Seattle Airplane Hangar
Seattle Airplane Hangar

Josh & Brittany’s wedding day started with one of my all-time favorite first looks at the misty Granite Falls (a stunning river gorge and waterfall trail) and ended at her family’s airplane hanger for the ceremony and reception. 10/10 day filled with epic views, vintage airplanes, a brunch reception, and a million other stunning and meaningful details.

West Michigan Winter Wedding

Kyrian & Rob had a truly special day. A fresh fall of snow on the ground, a wonderful community of family and friends, and meaning and beauty infused in each part made for a truly spectacular celebration. These two had their reception at the lovely Baker Lofts in Holland, Michigan and I doubt if that place has seen a more packed dance floor before or since.

Alaska Engagement Shoot
Alaska Engagement Shoot

We met over drinks in West Michigan to chat about their wedding and potential engagement photos. They mentioned they’d be in Alaska that summer for her grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary. After discussing a few other options we toyed with the idea of an engagement session up there, said our goodbyes, and I kept my fingers crossed they’d book. To my joy, they did. So on a cloudy July day under a big Alaska sky we met in Fairbanks and went on a road-trip, exploring Denali National Park and ending up in Hatcher Pass; the endless Alaska-in-summer day giving us perfect light from early afternoon until after midnight. On the drive home we saw a sunset and a sunrise in the space of a few hours. What an unbelievable adventure.

Eric and Maura Downtown Grand Rapids
Eric and Maura Downtown Grand Rapids

Eric and Maura were wed on a stunning summer day in West Michigan and I’m convinced they were sent straight from heaven to show the world Michiganders can dance. The entire day was one gorgeous, meaningful moment after the other and captured all the reasons I love weddings so much.

If you need a solid dose of joy, laughter, killer dancing and even better humans give it a look.

Erin and Kyle in Tahoe
Erin and Kyle in Tahoe

Erin & Kyle were married in a valley nestled in the mountains surrounding Lake Tahoe. In our chats planning the day we decided to do a first look and portrait session a few days prior to balance their desire for a relaxed wedding and epic photos of the two of them. So on a beautiful May afternoon, they got dressed up in their wedding attire and had their first look on a granite precipice, overlooking pine forests and a waterfall to boot. The day ended along the shores of Lake Tahoe, full of laughs and playing with their pups, Rasta and Zeppelin.

Intimate Zeeland Wedding at the District 5 Schoolhouse
Intimate Zeeland Wedding at the District 5 Schoolhouse

Ryan and Alicia were married on a bright, warm September afternoon at a cozy schoolhouse in Zeeland, MI. With their closest friends and family surrounding them, they made beautiful promises and sealed it with a kiss. The day was marked by tender speeches and a full dance floor; a day infused with meaning and joy throughout. This quote shared in the ceremony I think captures its spirit well: “If we commit ourselves to one person for life this is not, as many people think, a rejection of freedom; rather it demands the courage to move into all the risks of freedom, and the risk of love which is permanent; into that love which is not possession, but participation...” - Madeleine L’Engle
